1 Month

My sweet baby is a month old!

I'm actually not surprised that it feels like I blinked and it's a month later...simply because I've been so sleep deprived that I would believe anything in this delusional state.

The day after London's 1 month "birthday" I had to pack up all of London's newborn clothes and switch out his closet to 3 month clothing. He's such a big boy! I sort of shot myself in the foot by buying a few too many newborn diapers because now they're too small and I keep squeezing his chunky little thighs in to them.

But he continues to be a precious happy baby...

and also continues to sleep about 3 hours at a time (which would be the only reason I'd be excited for him to get a little older...to start sleeping through the night)

and car rides only fuel the fire...

but we sure do have fun together...

pray that I'll be able to find clothes in the future that fit this long body...

...and these big feet!

One more month and I'll be able to give you his new percentiles at his 2 month appointment.

2 Weeks Old

You'll never understand the meaning of "time flies" until you have a child. It feels like yesterday I gave birth to London and now he's 2 weeks old and he's already changing. The funny thing is...I cried and cried the day he was born because I didn't want him to grow up. I kept looking at his brand new face and his beautiful, tiny features and could see a clock counting down the seconds that I would never get back because he was getting older by the minute.

Before we all start bawling, because I already am...here's the good news...

London had his 2 week check up with the pediatrician yesterday and he continues to get amazing feedback about his growth and development. Isaiah and I are SO blessed to have such a healthy and happy baby.

Here are London's stats:

Weight: 9lbs, 8oz
Height: 22.25 in

Weight Percentile: 75th
Length Percentile: 95th
Head Circumference: 50th

And we haven't even supplemented with formula yet! This is all breast milk! :)

His umbilical cord fell off on Wednesday (10-03-12) so we get to see his cute little belly button now! And we get to give him real baths! Photos of that to come...

But boy this child loves to smile!

this looks like daddy...

but here he's the spitting image of mommy...

Two of my favorites this week...

we love his little swirl...!

I'm obsessed with how soft he is from head to toe. We do a lot of nuzzling in the Adams house :)

Continue to keep us in your prayers. We've made it through the hardest 2 weeks of our lives but without a doubt, it's been the sweetest time.

He's Here and He's Perfect!

Meet London Isaiah Adams
Born September 20, 2012
3:09pm
8 lbs, 13 oz, 21 3/4 inches long

I had a doctor's appointment on September 19th and my doctor asked me if I would like to discuss inducing (if I was uncomfortable). Of course I answered immediately and asked if they had anything available like...now :) She disappeared and came back to let us know Centennial Hospital was available for me the next morning at 5:00am. Isaiah and I were so excited we didn't sleep at all that night.

I didn't know what to expect with inducing (and labor for that matter) but I had the most pleasant experience. My nurses were wonderful, I never felt any pain from contractions, my epidural didn't hurt, they fed me ice chips, and the whole process was 6 hours (which is amazing for your first delivery). The only bump in the road was actually pushing him out. His head was turned a funny way so every time I pushed, his forehead would hit my pelvic bone and he wouldn't come out any further. Because of this, I had to push for an hour after I was dilated 10cm. I finally pushed him past my pelvic bone and he came right out :) Isaiah watched him come out and immediately said "he has dark hair!!...and he has your button nose!!"

I'll never forget how rewarded I felt after experiencing labor. I've never done something so hard for so long and felt so much overwhelming joy after the fact. I was so proud of myself that I created him, housed him so well inside of me, carried his weight for 9 months, and birthed him beautifully. I know Isaiah and I are biased but we seriously think he's the most gorgeous baby we've ever seen. He has the most precious features.

This first week has been insanely hard but so much fun. We had London's first doctor's appointment to see his pediatrician last Monday and got such a great report of how healthy he is! He gained 3 oz since being discharged from the hospital which they say is rare. London has his 2 week check up on Oct. 4th. I'm so anxious to see what he weighs this week!

Car ride home from the hospital

Like father like son

My happy boy :)

First outing in the park...look at those long skinny legs and big feet!
