Any Day Now...

38 Weeks

Isaiah and I had our 38 week appointment this morning (we're seeing our doctor every week at this point) and she said everything has progressed so nicely that the baby could come any day now! Whoooo!

I'm 2 1/2 cm dilated and 70% effaced (for those like me who don't know what that means, it's talking about how well the cervix are thinning out to prepare for the birthing process. The goal is to get to 100%).

Now I'm just waiting to either have contractions that are 5 minutes apart for an hour straight (or) for my water to break...(or) if I go back in to see my doctor next Wednesday and I'm 5cm dilated, they would send me to the hospital to be induced.

So now we wait.

These are photos from last week (37 weeks)

I feel totally normal. At this moment, I haven't had any sporadic contractions and no Braxton Hicks (well I've definitely had Braxton Hicks contractions for months now but I mean I haven't had them lately). My pelvic bones and my hips are consistently sore due to everything shifting and making room for him to come out (which feels like I've been horseback riding for a week straight). Other than that, the only thing different for me is the size of my belly. It's very out there and it's heavy. Stairs are my worst enemy. I used to ruuuun up and down stairs back in the day, now I'm waiving my arm like "go around!"

Isaiah's been the model husband throughout my pregnancy. If there were a textbook version of how husbands should be when their wives are pregnant, his picture would be in there. He's consistently told me how beautiful I am (even though I've gained 33 pounds!), he helps me clean the house, he carries all the heavy stuff around (like the garbage and the laundry), he helps me in and out of bed...in and out of the car...in and out of anywhere...
he's been extremely selfless and I've found myself thinking "boy it sure is nice to have such an encouraging, loving husband to help me right now!" I'm not worried about him a bit, he was born to do this stuff :)

It's football season at our house so London's coming just in time to see how big of a Packers fan he has to become...

Hopefully my next post will be of London's sweet face! My hospital bag is packed and ready to go so I'll keep all of you updated!
